Roller Coaster Supplies

The week beginning November 5th, first graders will be launching into a new science unit of force, motion and energy. We are so excited to announce that students will have the opportunity to design a roller coaster. To help make this learning activity a success, we will need a few household items. Please do not go out and purchase anything. We do not want this to become an expensive unit for any of our families. If you have any of these supplies at home and wouldn’t mind sending them in by November 10th, it would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you happen to see anything else in your home you think would be useful in building a roller coaster, please feel free to send it.

Items Needed:

· Toilet paper rolls

· Paper towel rolls

· Cardboard boxes

(please send them already with the bottom and sides cut)

· Popsicle sticks
